Get Promoted & make more money
without sacrificing your queer identity
As colorful as our lives are as queer and non-cis people, oftentimes, our workplaces promote a colorblind and heteronormative culture. And while most of us have had practice in keeping our true selves hidden, the closet is somewhere we keep our outfits – not our impeccable identities.

WELCOME TO OUR QUEER CAREER COMMUNITY

Being a part of the LGBTQ+ or TGNC communities can be fun, free, and fundamentally fulfilling. Unfortunately, not every environment we find ourselves in is as accepting, open, or encouraging as we need them to be.

Did you know: 46% of LGBTQ+ workers are closeted at work?

Making It To The C-Suite workshop series for LGBTQ+ and TGNC young professionals is designed to push you towards your full potential while showing you the respect, kindness, and encouragement you need and deserve.

From Individual Contributor to Manager

Christopher's goal is to be VP of Marketing for a big tech firm before he turns 40. But his fear of bringing his partner to company events puts a wall up with his straight colleagues.

Through coaching, Christopher designed the boundaries he wants to establish between his personal and professional lives and was able to more authentically connect with his colleagues, enabling him to form powerful career-boosting relationships.

From Team Outcast
To Team Leader

Jo came to coaching after a year of being treated like an outcast on her team in a big telecom company. She took the job thinking it was a good step in her career, although she was nervous about working for a conservative company.

In her first month, her colleague outed her as trans. Since then, she was excluded from meetings and social events and had fewer opportunities than her cis colleagues.

Through coaching, Jo stood up to the bullies and was promoted to team leader.

From Unhappy at Home to Business Powerhouse

Renata is married to a woman who isn't out at work and hides Renata's existence from her colleagues.

When Renata came to coaching, she was struggling in her career and couldn't talk openly about her struggles at home. She was tired of having to keep her wife's secret. It all felt like a heavy weight that was holding Renata down.

In coaching, Renata got clear on what she wanted and what she was willing to risk to get it. Renata's career is now thriving and she and her wife are working on their relationship.

SOLVING THE STRESS OF MAKING IT
TO THE C-SUITE

Being closeted, fully or partially, at work can be incredibly stressful. This stress can impact your performance, compensation, and – ultimately – advancements in your career. You have dreams of making it to the C-Suite, but not being able to work as your authentic self can create problems in how you show up for work.

In fact, working in an unwelcoming and unaccepting environment can lead to:

DISTRACTION

25% of LGBTQ+ workers feeling distracted at work

SELF-PROTECTION

28% feeling the need to lie about their personal lives to protect themselves.

EXHAUSTION

17% feeling tired of having to hide their sexual orientation and 13% feeling exhausted from having to hide their gender identity

With the amount of energy we’re spending on keeping up appearances, how do you make it to the C-Suite as a queer or non-cis person?

My Name Is Kirsten Bunch

Queer Leadership Coach Committed to Your C-Suite Success!

I help my queer and TGNC clients get promoted and make more money without having to sacrifice your identity, or your mental and physical health.

I know how difficult it is to talk about your professional hopes and dreams when you’re not a part of the dominant, heteronormative culture. Most workplaces tell us to focus on our work, keep our personal lives private, and be a team player in order to be successful.
 BUT
Being queer isn’t something we can turn on and off…
…and it’s something that touches and textures almost every part of our lives.
Think about the clothes you love to wear, the hairstyles and colors you’ve tried, the parties and places you go to on the weekend, and the personal celebrations that make you feel alive. Now think of how you feel about entering the workplace… and if there’s dissonance there, something needs to be done.

Mindset Reset – 3 Steps to Getting Your Head Promotion-Ready

A strong and stable mindset goes far beyond being positive or faking it ‘til you make it. For some of us, that negative voice in our heads can be louder than all of Lady Gaga concerts combined. So, when we feel we aren’t good enough or that we always say or do the wrong things, our mental agility and confidence is greatly impacted.

In this workshop session, you’ll learn how to create a powerful mindset that can help enhance your performance and improve your workplace relationships.

The 3 Mindset Reset Steps Include:

  • Understanding the crucial role mindset plays in leadership
  • Why having a negative mindset isn’t your fault
  • 3 ways to take control of your mindset without meditation

SESSION 2

Thursday, October 27, 3-4pm EST/12-1pm PST

Are Doubt and Fear Hijacking Your Career?

Fear isn’t always as clean-cut as a jump scare. In fact, fear is one of the sneakiest emotions to process. Our brains have the incredible ability to mask our fear as a myriad of other emotions and actions. These including anger, defensiveness, and even appeasement. For some of us, we may not even know what we’re afraid of, or that we’re even afraid at all.

In the workplace, fear can wreak havoc on our careers by damaging our performance, or relationships, not to mention our personal wellbeing.

In this workshop session, we’ll explore:

  •  Where our fears come from
  • How to locate your fears
  • How to counteract these fears to enhance performance
By recognizing our hidden fears – and in understanding the damage they can cause – we can shift your brain’s fear response and boost your courage through curiosity and innovation.

SESSION 3

Thursday, November 3, 3-4pm EST/12-1pm PST

Is Being ‘Out’ at Work Beneficial to Your Career?

Just as we all have our own personal identities and personalities, so too are companies unique. Depending on your company’s business model, we’ll figure out where your LGBTQ+ or TGNC identity is an asset or a liability to your workplace.

This workshop session will help you:

  •  Figure out if your current position is the right role for you
  • Properly prepare when interviewing with a new company
  • Decide whether coming out is the best idea or not
  • Navigate sharing ‘conversations’ at work
By determining whether your team welcomes and accepts diverse identities, you’ll have an easier time deciding whether they deserve to know the real you or not. Once you’ve found the confidence to come out (or not), you’ll be able to leverage your identity to promote your career – no matter how conservative your company may be.

SESSION 4

Thursday, November 10, 3-4pm EST/12-1pm PST

Building C-Suite-Level Resilience

As a leader, resilience is one of the most important qualities to have and to hone. It allows you to recover quickly from difficulties, and to not let the small stuff squash you.

As a part of the LGBTQ+ or TGNC community, resilience is something you likely already have in your arsenal. But as someone working in heteronormative spaces, you need to become more aware and less reactive to macroaggressions, overt prejudice, and overall discrimination.

In this workshop session, we’ll cover:

  •  How to effectively respond to bias of any kind
  • How to reset & communicate boundaries when broken
  • 5 ways we sabotage our own resilience
By the end of this workshop, you’ll have all the tools you need to succeed in resilience. I’ll give you weekly practices that you can continue with long after your session, designed to build your resilience and make you an unbreakable powerhouse.

SESSION 5

Thursday, November 17, 3-4pm EST/12-1pm PST

Building Interpersonal Relationships to Ensure You Get Promoted

As many of us know, having the right relationships with the right people can make or break our personal progression. This makes forming the right relationships with colleagues and customers critical in growing your career.

From where you are now – to the moment you’re CEO – having a strong network of people who know and support the real you will ensure your success. I’ll show you how to create solid and useful relationships that can help you get promoted, make more money, and be recognized for all you bring to the table.

In this workshop session will cover:

  •  3 ways to build meaningful, professional relationships
  • How to manage and resolve relationship conflict
  • The #1 tool for creating strong relationships at work
By the end of this workshop, you’ll have all the tools you need to succeed in resilience. I’ll give you weekly practices that you can continue with long after your session, designed to build your resilience and make you an unbreakable powerhouse.
